As it’s a New Year: Did you now know that regular aerobic exercise can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, which affect one out of three people over the age of 85. A recent study measured the cognitive abilities of two groups of people over a period of twelve years. The first group did only light exercise such as walking or yoga, while the other did moderate to intense exercise such as running or aerobic dance. Researchers found that the brain aging process had slowed by 10 years in the more active group, even after taking other factors such as alcohol consumption and high blood pressure into consideration.

Train and Dance Class (NEW)
The Holidays always leave us with an unwelcome gift - a little extra weight!
Join “Train and Dance” class and get in shape engaging all your muscles from head to toe with the Tone and Stretch (Pilates based) exercises and the “Oui Dance”TM technique.
Why take this class?
· To tone your upper and lower abs with Pilates exercises
· To strengthen your upper and lower back without using weights with Pilates exercises
· To stretch your arms, legs, and lower back in order to improve your flexibility
· To work on your balance and posture
· To challenge your memory by progressive dance moves
Classes are on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. starting January 21, 2019, in the Polyvalent Hall of the Hellenic Community South Shore, 5220 Grande Allée, Saint Hubert.
A card for four classes will be $40. Drop in class $12.
First class will be FREE for new participants.
*This is a Beginners level class for adults only. Just bring a mat, towel, ballet/jazz/flexible shoes. No running shoes.
