As it’s a New Year: Did you now know that regular aerobic exercise can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, which affect one out of three people over the age of 85. A recent study measured the cognitive abilities of two groups of people over a period of twelve years. The first group did only light exercise such as walking or yoga, while the other did moderate to intense exercise such as running or aerobic dance. Researchers found
that the brain aging process had slowed by 10 years in the more active group, even after taking other factors such as alcohol consumption and high blood pressure into consideration.

Volunteers at The Charles Lemoyne Hospital and various Chslds who will assist Clientele in both French and English have now elected to wear a bright badge JE PARLE:Francais English
While most volunteers already offer help in both languages. The wearing of the badge is to symbolize their willingness to support and encourage all users to use the language of their choice.
The program while optional for the Volunteers has already had many requests for the Yellow Badge. So next time you need assistance at the hospital and see this badge on a volunteer.
Ask your question in Francais or English . They would be glad you did.
