SOUTH SHORE ADULT RESPITE CENTRE Fall Tea Party will be taking place on October 28th, from 1:00-4:00.
Greg Inniss will be doing live entertainment from 2:00-3:00. We will have plenty of food, half and half and prizes. For the comfort of our guests we have acquired a hall 1 street away from the center!
The tea party will now be held at Cynthia-Coull Arena upstairs at 195 Rue Empire, Greenfield Park, QC J4V 1T9.

Evening YOGA classes: Gentle Hatha yoga consists of different stretches, postures and breathing techniques which allow the participant to improve their flexibility, balance, health and well-being. There are no prerequisites. Each person advances at their own rhythm. After an hour of gentle stretching and movement, participants leave relaxed with a deep sense of well-being. A yoga mat is recommended but for people unable to perform the floor exercises, it is possible to do them on a chair. Learn how to buy the fabric (with me), how to wash, iron, cut the fabric. How to use the blades, rulers etc. Courses are given in my home in Old Longueuil, at your rhythm – we will select the dates and times together, day or evening. Sessions are about 3 hours at a time for a flat rate of $25. Once the top is done, you will learn how to sandwich your quilt and learn how to HAND QUILT. First quilt is a throw or baby size quilt.
Must have a portable sewing machine and know the basic of sewing. Quilting is only straight stitching. At the beginning, you use all my tools.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY (Many English-speaking volunteers come from South Shore)
Help make history come alive. Learn about the Château Ramezay Museum and Historic Site and become a volunteer guide at the museum. An Open House for prospective volunteers will be held at the museum on Monday, September 25, 2017 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Volunteer guides assist with school programs on weekdays and provide tours for tourists on weekends in the winter and daily during the summer. Volunteers also provide tours for special groups such as ESL students, groups from cruise boats, etc. Training is provided.

In-home Services Our specialists or companions give personalized service, based on the interests and abilities of the participants, in the comfort of their own home. For the availability and the conditions of this service, In-Residence services Our In-Residence program offers a wide range of group activities: Physical, artistic, and cognitive. In addition to the obvious benefits, these activities break the isolation of the participants especially at the beginning of their stay in a residence.

The Centre is open to all South Shore Families and individuals. many clienteles are newcomers ...they also offer family support and low-cost thrift shop … Thursday is when items can be picked up all are welcome You pay a small membership fee and can then select a range of food items this food bank works is that people/families pay a low yearly membership fee...and then they can go purchase food items Say $7 a cart ...they can get fruit, vegetables, dairy items, bread etc., They have a huge space and plans are to add a second-hand shop for household. furniture etc. good ...They do have Bilingual Volunteers and will also be looking at offering family service services
